He was ”molested” as a teen and ”blackmailed” into losing his virginity aged 15

He was “rendered unconscious” and sexually assaulted by a man in the rear of a van during his teenage years.

Subsequently, he was “coerced” into losing his virginity at the age of 15.

Against all expectations, Matthew McConaughey has sought his revenge — and emerged more resilient.

The Oscar-winning McConaughey revealed these details in his latest memoir, Greenlights, where he also admitted that he once feared he would be condemned to hell for engaging in premarital sex.

“I was coerced into having sex for the first time at 15. I was convinced I was destined for hell due to the premarital encounter,” the 50-year-old wrote.

“Today, I simply hope that is not the case.”

McConaughey, a father of three, further noted: “I was assaulted by a man at 18 while I was rendered unconscious in the back of a van.”

Despite the traumatic experience, the Dallas Buyer’s Club star maintains an optimistic outlook. “I’ve never perceived myself as a victim,” he stated. “I possess ample evidence that the universe is working to ensure my happiness.”

Indeed, McConaughey’s career has flourished since he gained recognition through Dazed and Confused (1992), and he won an Oscar for his portrayal of Ron Woodroof in Dallas Buyer’s Club.

This, coupled with equally compelling performances in films like Interstellar and television series such as True Detective, has catapulted him to fame. Nowadays, he is a well-known figure in Hollywood.

Nevertheless, the 50-year-old continues to be a kind and thoughtful individual. In 2016, he contributed to the University of Texas’ “Rape Elimination Program” by providing transportation for students returning home from campus after nightfall.

He was photographed driving students home while actively promoting awareness regarding the prevention of sexual assault.

Longhorns take care of each other, and it’s ‘safe’ to say Matthew McConaughey agrees. Don’t forget to use SURE Walk when traveling home late at night; you never know who might pick you up! #BeSafe #SafeChatsPosted by The University of Texas Student Government on Monday, November 28, 2016

“Longhorns look out for one another, and it is reasonable to assert that Matthew McConaughey concurs,” the caption states.

“Remember to utilize SURE Walk when returning home late at night; you can never predict who may offer you a ride!”

Regarding his memoir, it appears to be filled with captivating anecdotes for his admirers. Within the book, he also reflects on his parents and their tumultuous relationship.

McConaughey recounted how his mother, Kay, once broke his father’s nose and threatened him with a knife during an altercation, before they engaged in intimacy on the kitchen floor. The couple was reportedly married three times and divorced on two occasions.

I am not sure about your perspective, but I personally have a deep admiration for Matthew McConaughey and believe he possesses a heart of gold.

Although it may have taken him some time to address the abuse he endured in his youth, his willingness to do so will undoubtedly inspire others to follow suit.

It is entirely unacceptable that young individuals can be subjected to molestation and abuse by their elders in contemporary society. For far too long, such incidents have gone unnoticed, allowing the perpetrators to evade justice.

This must end. I hope that through the courageous voices of individuals like Matthew McConaughey, we can dismantle the stigma surrounding this issue, enabling victims of exploitation or abuse to feel empowered to come forward and seek assistance.
