Fans do a double take after side-by-side photo of Barron and young Donald goes viral

It’s not just the towering height or the quiet charm catching attention this time —Barron Trump recently went viral for something even more uncanny: looking exactly like his dad.

The genes are strong

In December 2024, a fan-run account on X (formerly Twitter), Department of Government Efficiency News, shared a side-by-side photo comparing 18-year-old Barron Trump with a young Donald Trump, and the internet has been buzzing ever since. From the jawline to the signature smirk, the resemblance is so striking that some users are joking it’s “proof cloning works.”

One amazed commenter wrote, “They have ‘King’ looks. And yes, he’s definitely his son,” while another added, “The genes are strong.”

A third person chimed in, “Definitely has President Trump’s hair! Great picture!”

Barron Trump, the youngest son of Donald and Melania Trump, has largely stayed out of the public eye. However, in recent months, he’s made more frequent appearances. On Election Day, he was filmed shaking hands with UFC president Dana White, and his voice—rarely heard in public—surprised many with its deep, commanding tone. The clip quickly went viral, with many commenting that he sounded like “an actor or a future leader in the making.”

Even Donald Trump has acknowledged the buzz. At a recent rally, he joked with Dana White, asking, “Can we make him into a fighter?” before telling the crowd, “I gave him a shout-out last night and they went wild—‘Ba-ron! Ba-ron!’”

Barron also attracted attention on Inauguration Day. When his father addressed supporters at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., he praised Barron for his contributions during the campaign.

Barron helped his dad

Although it wasn’t publicized, Barron Trump played a key role in advising his father on how to connect with younger voters. In an interview with The Daily Mail, Donald Trump revealed that Barron helped him engage with Gen Z voters through influencers and podcasters.

“He knows so much about it. Adin Ross, for example—I wasn’t familiar with some of these people. It’s a different generation, but Barron knows them all. And we’ve had great success, as you know,” Trump explained to the UK news outlet in early September.

“We did three unique events—I’m not sure what you’d call them, but they’re platforms—with three people I didn’t know, but Barron knows them very well,” he continued. “He actually calls them friends, since it’s a different generation.”

Trump remarked, “They don’t grow up watching television like we did. They grow up with the internet or watching a computer. But Barron knew them.”

Barron has also been seen more frequently at Mar-a-Lago, most recently during Thanksgiving weekend, where he shared a meal with family and close friends. Social media influencer Karina Safarova Rudeva posted photos from the evening, giving the public another rare glimpse of the youngest Trump in a social setting.

The 19-year-old son of Donald and Melania Trump enrolled at NYU’s Stern School of Business last fall, and according to reports, he’s already gaining popularity with the ladies.

“He’s at Stern, so he’s studying business. He’s definitely a ladies’ man and pretty popular,” a source told People. “He’s tall, handsome, and a lot of people think he’s attractive—even some liberal folks like him.”

Despite his popularity, not much is known about Barron’s private life, and it’s unclear if he’s had a girlfriend. However, it seems that making friends at New York University hasn’t been easy for him. According to TMZ, Barron has turned to online gaming as a way to connect with classmates, inviting them to join him in the virtual world. It seems he’s found a creative way to build new friendships in college.

Right now, Barron Trump is focused on his studies and keeping a low profile. The 19-year-old hasn’t shown any interest in entering politics or real estate just yet, and it remains unclear whether he will eventually follow in his father’s footsteps.

In a break from family tradition, Barron chose to attend NYU’s Stern School of Business, rather than following his father and older relatives to the University of Pennsylvania or Georgetown.

Whether he’s planning a future in politics or forging his own path, one thing is certain: that viral side-by-side photo highlights the enduring Trump legacy—and the striking resemblance—is very much alive.
