Donald Trump Delivers Stern Warning to Zelenskyy Over Potential Deal, Urges Swift Action to Avoid Total Collapse.

Former President Donald Trump has issued a sharp critique of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while also hinting that the long-running war in Eastern Europe may be nearing a resolution.

Just recently, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio cautioned both Kyiv and Moscow, stating that the United States has grown weary of the slow pace of peace negotiations and emphasized that Washington won’t wait indefinitely. He delivered a firm message: if there are no immediate signs of progress toward a ceasefire, the U.S. will consider stepping back from its role in the talks.

Rubio, tasked with facilitating peace between Ukraine and Russia—who have been locked in conflict since Moscow’s 2022 invasion—stressed the urgency of tangible movement toward an agreement.

Amid these developments, Trump suggested that discussions toward a resolution are underway, but he did not hold back in chastising Zelenskyy for his approach.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, the former president referenced a recent Wall Street Journal headline featuring Zelenskyy, where the Ukrainian leader declared, “Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea. There’s nothing to talk about here.”

Trump criticized the statement as damaging to diplomatic efforts, arguing that Crimea was effectively lost under former President Barack Obama’s administration and should not be a sticking point in the current talks.

“No one is demanding that Zelenskyy accept Crimea as Russian territory,” Trump said, “but if reclaiming it was truly important, why didn’t Ukraine defend it back in 2014 when Russia took it without resistance? That region has long hosted major Russian naval installations, even before what I call the ‘Obama handover.’”

He went on to say that provocative remarks like Zelenskyy’s only make it harder to end the war, claiming the Ukrainian president has little to show for the ongoing struggle.

“Ukraine is facing a bleak situation. Zelenskyy can either pursue peace now or drag the war out for another three years—risking the loss of the entire country,” Trump warned.

Although he emphasized that he has “no ties to Russia,” Trump said he’s driven by a desire to end the unnecessary loss of life, citing the estimated 5,000 Russian and Ukrainian soldiers dying weekly.

He argued that Zelenskyy’s defiant tone would only prolong the conflict, describing the region as a “killing field” that no one wants to see continue.

Trump concluded by claiming that a resolution is within reach, but that Zelenskyy—whom he described as having “no leverage”—needs to act decisively.

“I’m ready to help both Ukraine and Russia move past this total disaster,” Trump said, “a catastrophe that would never have happened under my leadership.”
