Conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel have spoken out after photos emerged showing them with a newborn baby.

The twins gained fame in 1996 when they appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show at just six years old. Later, their lives were featured in the TLC reality series Abby & Brittany, which documented their experiences through college and into adulthood.
Abby and Brittany share a circulatory system and all organs below their waist. Abby controls the right arm and leg, while Brittany manages the left side.
Their parents, Patty and Mike Hensel, chose not to pursue separation surgery after doctors indicated that the girls’ chances of survival were low, as reported by “Today.”
On August 14, the now-35-year-old twins were spotted with a baby, carrying a car seat in a parking lot. The images, released by TMZ, quickly went viral online.

Two weeks later, the twins were seen running errands with Abby’s husband, Josh, and later near the school where they work.
In response to growing speculation about whether the twins had given birth, the sisters posted a TikTok video this past Saturday that included a montage of photos of them with a baby taken over the last few weeks.
The video was captioned ‘Blessed’, and included hashtags like ‘sisterhood’ and ‘respect’.
As of now, neither Brittany, Abby, nor Josh has commented on the identity of the mystery baby or confirmed if they have welcomed a newborn.
Back in 2006, Brittany mentioned: “Yeah, we’re going to be moms. We haven’t figured out how being moms is going to work yet.”

On the other hand, Abby made headlines last year when it came to light that she had married her husband Josh in 2021. The wedding was kept low-key, but the couple eventually posted pictures from their special day on TikTok.
However, the big question still lingers: can Abby and Brittany become mothers? Many people think that their unique conjoined condition would make it impossible for them to get pregnant, but their mom, Patty, has shared some insights that give hope.
In a past documentary titled Joined For Life, Patty revealed that both twins have shown a strong wish to become moms someday. She also mentioned that their shared organs are functional, which suggests that motherhood could be a possibility.
Even with a lot of public curiosity, the twins have never talked openly about their sex life.

Since the Hensel twins share one set of genitals, they would both feel any physical contact in that area, as explained by Alice Dreger, a professor of clinical medical humanities and bioethics at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, in an article for The Atlantic.
As for whether both of them can experience orgasm at the same time, Dreger confessed, “we don’t know.”
She also pointed out that because sensation can vary a lot from one twin to the other in different body parts, it’s “hard to guess how any conjoinment will turn out in practice.”
