Barbra Streisand Pushes Panic Button: America ‘In Deep Trouble Under Trump’s Regime’

Hollywood actress and singer Barbra Streisand, who has become a frustrated political commentator, is done with President Donald Trump. She wants everyone to support actress Jane Fonda in bringing back the Committee for the First Amendment.
Streisand shared her thoughts in an open letter on Instagram, saying that America is “in deep trouble under Trump’s regime.”
In her social media message, the Oscar-winning star spoke directly to Fonda, voicing her worries about what she sees as threats to free speech.
“Dear Jane,” Streisand began.
“We are indeed in deep trouble under Trump’s regime. The entertainment community has always had strong and powerful artists standing up for democracy and freedom of speech. Our voices are always stronger together.”
“I’m proud to be part of our community and this committee in 2025, as sad as this is, to be reliving the 1950s,” she added. “Jane, I appreciate your continued activism and voice in these scary times. With hope for the future, Barbra.”
According to Breitbart News, the Committee for the First Amendment was created in the 1940s to fight against the blacklisting of artists during the McCarthy era.
Jane Fonda mentioned her father, Henry Fonda, who was one of the original members, as her inspiration for wanting to bring it back to the spotlight.
That group ended after its first campaign, but Fonda is now leading the effort to revive it, as supporters believe there is renewed pressure on critics from Trump and his administration.
